    2023 Reunion
Some of you will have seen that Andrew Heatlie has had to cease organising the reunion due to family commitments.
It is clear therefore that a volunteer is needed to take over organising it, I guess this could be in the venue Andrew was planning to use or in a venue closer to where they live.
Please step up to the mark or it wont take place. I’m sure those who have organised one in the past would be willing to pass on any help or advice.

Shocked and saddened to learn from Chris’s message this morning that Gordon Dadd had passed away. He was in the next bed space to me when I first arrived in Osnabruck.Lovely Guy. My condolences to his family. R.I.P. Gordon.

Does anyone have a contact address or tel No. for Gordon’s family. I know he has two children, boy and girl, and either will do

I’m absolutely gutted. Gordon Dadd was one of the “good guys” who served in 7. I remember him arriving, he got married around the same time as me, lived in Belm the same time as me and was married to one of the nicest people I ever met. They were a perfect match.
He took over a reunion and organised it through the worst conditions (for reunions) we’ve known in the last 15 years we’ve been doing it.
I find it astounding that, now we live in a world when I can be told what somebody’s cat had for breakfast while the cat is still eating it, and how coooool someone thinks they are within nano seconds, I don’t hear about a mates funeral until the very day it is happening. Is anyone going? Will we be unrepresented? Please don’t tell me that nobody knew

A compilation of photographs of the Amazon Bridge Memorial Ceremony has been put together and uploaded onto youtube. The link is below. Please share on other social media platforms. A note for your diaries, 13 May 2024 is the 80 anniversary of the construction of the Amazon bridge. The REA will be involved with the organising. It will be a big event and well worth visiting. While I am on here, I went to the RE museum on Friday and I have to say it has much improved since my last visit and is now well worth visiting. Take care everyone.

Finally arrived home after spending a few extra days in Yorkshire. Just thought I would add my thanks to Sammy for organizing a good weekend, it’s good to meet up with old friends. It’s also good to see a few extra people putting comments on this site, let’s hope more join in and a few ‘pull up a sandbag’ so Ray has more memories from 7 Squadron veterans to add to the site for preservation.
