Absolutely fantastic George. I remember the Chemin de Dames from our visit in 2014. Have we ever ‘done’ this cemetery? There are a few shots on here that ring a bellAugust 28, 2018 at 4:10 pm #238
Hi Brummie, I don’t need a lot of space for next year’s display as it will be a general display and not covering a centenary year. Thanks for your hard work and keeping us updated.
Found this video, it relates to an area we will be covering on this year’s Black Horse Trail 1918-2018. The major’s story took place on the right flank of the 50th Division at that time. (7 Fd Coy were in 50th Div at this time)August 21, 2018 at 1:15 pm #237

Hi all, could those members who have received the booking forms let me know as it appears that some of you have changed your email address so I’m not sure who has and hasn’t received one.

Hi George, we have quite a nice spot for the display, its close to the bar and the gala dinner restaurant. It is also close to the entrance to the hotel. I have to go to the hotel again 6 weeks before the REunion so I will see if I can get us moved if necessary to the larger area, but there are a few events going on over the same weekend. I will see what I can do.

Brummie, I will be attending the reunion. If you could organise a little space for a display it would be appreciated, Thanks.
I have made a new short video of the train station 7 Field Company arrived at on 27 April 1918 on route to the French sector on the Chemin des Dames between Craonne and Pontavert. As part of the 50th (Northumbrian) Division, they were sent there for rest as it was, at that time, a quiet part of the Front. The Division had been decimated in the first two Spring Offensives in March and April and needed breathing space to train the replacement troops. Fortune was not on their side, as on the 27th May 1918, they were attacked yet again, in the Third Spring Offensive. At the end of the video, you can click on the thumbnail to view Centre de Poitiers, 7 Coy’s location between Craonne and Pontavert. A new video will be made on the battle on return from this September’s BHT.

For those of you interested in such things I just received a bank statement. Don’t know why because I never asked for it and normally only get one a year
However, unless someone dies this week, we have £2007.98 in the bank
